Staten Island, NY: Former Borough President James Molinaro endorsed Republican Glenn Yost, who is running for State Assembly in the 62nd District.
“I’ve known Glenn for almost twenty-five years. We worked together in the 1990’s when he was the Youth Officer at the 120th Precinct. We are alike in many ways. We both grew up in a single parent household and we both worked odd jobs to help our families get by. The one thing I can tell you about Glenn, he works hard for his community and he never forgets where he came from. He was a first responder on 9/11 and a volunteer after Superstorm Sandy. He has always been there when I needed him and now I want to be there for him.”
Yost is a highly decorated twenty year veteran of the NYPD. He patrolled both Brooklyn and Staten Island. He volunteered for the narcotics division as an undercover officer, where he participated in over five hundred buy and bust operations. Yost was one of the youngest members of the NYPD to be promoted to Detective First Grade. Only 174 of 40,000 officers were promoted to this position. As a Youth Officer in 120th Precinct, he mentored over 1,200 young people. He received fourteen E.P.D. medals for outstanding police service and three meritorious duty awards.
For the last 6 years, Yost has served as counsel to State Senator Andrew Lanza.
“It’s truly an honor to be endorsed by such a titan in Staten Island politics. Jimmy has fought tooth and nail for decades to improve the quality of life of Staten Island residents. I’m looking forward to continuing his legacy in Albany,” said Yost.
Molinaro continued, “As a founding member of the Conservative Party, I can tell you, without a shadow of a doubt, that Glenn Yost is the true Conservative candidate in this race.”
